4G Wireless Delivers

For years, whispers about 4G wireless technology were as mysterious and as intangible as the Holy Grail. Technology, however, has delivered and 4G wireless technology is now taking the world by storm. Comparing 4G wireless technology to traditional wireless technology is like comparing a Ford Focus with a Viper; sure they’re both cars, but one is just so much better, and now everybody wants it.

Few will dispute the convenience and freedom that wireless affords users, but 4G’s wireless transmission system is so superior to traditional Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is notorious for black-out spots, and while you can travel the Internet super-highway from anywhere, you are limited to areas that have coverage. 4G networks really do cover everywhere; they can cover huge areas from only one access point, which means the likelihood of you losing your connection is limited. Look for WiMax access points to tap into these wide areas of coverage.

The “digital handshake” is a source of frustration for many traditional Wi-Fi users. This brief drop in service as one moves from one coverage area to another can be disruptive and can cause a loss of data and connection. 4G network coverage, however, is seamless. This means that as you move from area to area, your wireless device will be passed from area to area without a discernible difference.

With 4G wireless, it is easy to manage all your digital media.  Freeware programs like Handbrake, Xvid or Virtual Dub enable the users to download and view any digital media on multiple platforms and in a variety of formats. 4G wireless means that you can view your videos and media with virtually no hesitation and slow loading times.

There is no doubt that 4G wireless is going to vastly change user’s tolerance for the slower and unpredictable standard wireless. Still in its infancy, 4G is still out of reach for many until smart phones and other wireless devices utilizing this technology come down in price, but it is indeed catching on. Now it is up to service providers to increase the network of access points so that users can take full advantage of all that it has to offer.
